A contemporary take on French Provincial landscape design for a small golf course lot.
Santa Rosa Beach, Florida
TBD
Tiered landscape, water feature, outdoor entertaining area
Landscape design that includes management of grade change from upper level lanai to lower grade, design outdoor living space with water feature, retain view of golf course, shield view from adjacent neighbors.
To accommodate the change in grade, the use of tiered levels of turf and planting beds with reinforced walls and stairs will provide a functional and aesthetic solution. The stair path becomes a guided view to the upper courtyard with plantings along each side to emphasize the path. The courtyard below the lanai was designed with a tile rug to create contrast and differentiate the space. As part of the retaining wall a built-in water feature running the length of the upper courtyard becomes a focal point from both the covered lanai above and the courtyard itself. The inclusion of lighting at the base of the scupper in the water feature helps create the ambiance of the space in the evening.
Through the use of a variety of hardscapes, softscapes, lighting and grade changes, an outdoor space which appeals to the visual and auditory senses was created to be used at all seasons in the Florida weather.
